The Lumos story began on the streets of Boston with a love for cycling as a means of getting around, but also a fear of not being seen by motorists. Founders Eu-wen and Jeff set about to creating a new style of helmet that would not only provide protection in the event of a fall, but also fall and collision prevention.
The team launched their very first helmet in 2015, known as the Lumos Kickstart after raising more than $800,000 via the Kickstarter platform. They won numerous awareds, were featured on the cover of Time Magazine and were even listed as one of Oprah's favorite things in 2018.
Through various initiatives, Lumos has grown the brand and promoted greater safety in cycling on city streets. The lineup is continually expanding and we're excited to see what comes next.
