Scicon Sports Brand Story

For more than four decades since its founding, SCICON bags have been the choice of the world's most legendary cyclists, including icons like Moser, Cipollini, Pantani, Indurain, Bettini, Boonen, Froome, Contador, Nibali, Sagan, and Pogačar, to highlight just a few.

In 2011, the brand underwent significant growth when the ASG Group took on the majority ownership, propelling SCICON towards rapid international expansion and soaring to unprecedented levels.

By 2019, SCICON had made its mark in the sports eyewear market, quickly becoming a favored brand among numerous cycling champions and aficionados.

In under twelve months, SCICON eyewear claimed victory at the 2020 Tour de France with Tadej Pogacar, secured wins in over 50 races, and was the choice for three World Tour Teams: UAE Team Emirates, NTT Pro Cycling, and Israel Cycling Academy.

SCICON's journey to become a top sport performance eyewear brand has been fruitful, with more than 100 UCI WorldTour wins attributed to three teams and celebrating Tadej Pogacar's second Tour de France victory in 2021 on the Champs-Élysées.

By 2022, SCICON announced an unprecedented eyewear endorsement deal within the UCI WorldTour, equipping four UCI Men's WorldTour teams and two UCI Women's WorldTour teams, totaling over 150 professional cyclists wearing SCICON glasses in competitions.

As the elite cyclists convened in Copenhagen, Denmark, for the 109th Tour de France, four teams—UAE Team Emirates, Israel Premier Tech, BikeExchange Jayco, and Astana Qazaqstan—showcased the latest SCICON Sports performance sunglasses, with 32 riders in total. This made SCICON Sports the most prominently featured eyewear brand at the event.

Presently, SCICON's reach spans over 40 countries globally, with branches in the USA (San Diego), Canada (Vancouver), South Africa (Pretoria), and Australia (Melbourne). The core operations, including a concept lab for bag prototyping, technical sportswear production, and eyewear assembly, are housed at the Global Headquarters in Bassano del Grappa, Italy.
