CeramicSpeed Brand Story

The company's roots trace back to 1998, when Jacob Csizmadia set a new world record in 24-hour inline skating with ceramic ball-bearing-equipped skates. His pioneering spirit led to the introduction of ceramic bearings in professional cycling two years later. This winning attitude is the cornerstone of the company's growth and innovation.

In 2001, Jacob joined Team CSC on the Tour de France, marking the debut of ceramic bearings in the prestigious race. This milestone led to the establishment of CeramicSpeed, which began manufacturing hybrid bearings in Holstebro, Denmark, catering to both the sports and industrial sectors.

Leveraging advancements from NASA's space program in the 1990s, CeramicSpeed's hybrid bearings are crafted with superior silicon nitride ceramic balls. These bearings are 58% lighter and 30-50% faster than traditional steel counterparts, with each ball taking 50 to 70 days to produce—a testament to the company's commitment to quality.

The experience gained from cycling bearings propelled the company into industrial markets, collaborating with leading manufacturers worldwide to deliver cost savings and competitive advantages. In 2014, CeramicSpeed achieved FDA certification, becoming the sole producer of bearings safe for direct food contact.

CeramicSpeed has maintained its dedication to cycling innovation, demonstrated by the 2016 acquisition of Friction Facts, a Colorado testing lab, enhancing their research capabilities and commitment to advancing cycling technology.

At present, the essence of the company is its people. Despite its global presence, the heart of operations remains in Holstebro, where a dedicated team assembles each bearing by hand, reflecting the company's emphasis on craftsmanship and quality.
