Overview

The SRAM RED X-SYNC Direct Mount Aero Chainring (E1) is built for modern 1x road, TT, and triathlon setups where clean aerodynamics and secure chain retention matter. SRAM’s goal is simple: a ring that slices the wind, stays quiet under load, and keeps the chain locked in place across rough pavement and high-torque efforts.

X-SYNC chain control

SRAM’s X-SYNC wide-tooth / narrow-tooth profile is designed to keep the chain engaged and stable, reducing the likelihood of chain drop in 1x use. It’s a straightforward way to add drivetrain security without extra parts or drag.

Aero shaping and durability

The “Aero” version uses a smooth, closed face to reduce turbulence around the crank area—especially valuable in TT and triathlon positions. SRAM also uses a laser-etched finish for improved durability over time.

Fit and compatibility

This chainring uses a Direct Mount (DM) interface and an offset of 6.5 mm. SRAM specifies compatibility for 12-speed and 12/13 drivetrains, and offers the Aero ring in 44T, 46T, 48T and 50T sizes.
