Chamois Butt'R has a rich history that starts (you guessed it!) in the saddle. Founder and President, Steve Mathews', love of riding bikes began in high school when he hopped in the saddle and rode across Colorado with a friend. That was in the summer of 1976, and Steve has been hooked on two wheels ever since. He hasn't looked back.

Steve's passion for riding evolved into an obsession that led to road racing and a lot of uncomfortable miles on a leather chamois (ouch!). That's when Steve set out on his mission to chase down a solution to his (and others') discomfort when logging a bunch of miles on the bike. After trying everything else that was on the market back in 1988, the Original Chamois Butt’r® was born in a garage in Kansas City, Missouri (and we're glad it was!).

Today, over three decades on, Steve and the Chamois Butt'R team are just as passionate about creating the most epic experience on a bike. Chamois Butt'R is family owned and operated, and proudly stands behind the quality of the products it brings to market.
