Nomad Notes
Wheels are system choices.
Careful cyclists evaluate wheels through compatibility and purpose first: brake type, axle standard, freehub, tire size, rim internal width, rider weight, terrain, and serviceability. Depth and weight alone do not tell the whole story; a fast wheel that handles poorly in crosswinds or limits tire choice may not improve the ride. Durability, bearing quality, spoke availability, and tubeless setup all matter over time. Wheels can be a meaningful upgrade when the match is right. Before buying, confirm standards carefully and think about the tires you actually want to run.
