Nomad Notes
Security depends on context.
Security starts before the bike is locked: location, time, visibility, anchor quality, and how easily components can be removed all matter. A lock chosen by weight or convenience alone can still be used poorly, around a weak post or through a wheel only. No lock is absolute; the goal is to make theft difficult enough for the situation. A commuter may need a different answer than a cafe-stop road rider. Learn how to lock the frame, protect wheels, and avoid poor anchors. Ask for guidance if the bike will be left regularly.
