The Zipp 858 NSW D1 Front is Zipp’s deepest NSW front wheel, engineered to maintain high speed on flat and rolling terrain while offering predictable handling in gusty conditions. Its unique Sawtooth rim profile varies between 82 and 85 mm in depth, incorporating Hyperfoil nodes and the HexFin ABLC dimple pattern to reduce aerodynamic drag and stabilize steering.

Rim & Tire System

This front wheel uses a tubeless, hookless carbon rim with a 23 mm internal width optimized for wider road tires. It is designed exclusively for tubeless tires with a minimum size of 28 mm. Recommended maximum tire pressures are approximately 72 psi for 28 mm tires and 65 psi for 30–32 mm tires, though riders often run lower pressures to enhance comfort and efficiency.

Aerodynamics & Handling

The patented Sawtooth rim shape combined with Hyperfoil nodes and HexFin ABLC dimples delivers top-tier aerodynamic performance and crosswind stability. This variable-depth design provides triathletes and time-trialists with deep-rim speed without sacrificing steering control in side gusts.

Hub & Brake Interface

The wheel is built on Zipp’s premium ZR1 SL Center-Lock disc hub, compatible with 12 mm thru-axles and standard j-bend spokes. It is designed for disc brakes, eliminating the need for a rim brake track.
